We Are Community, We are Crossfit Edge Airdrie

At CrossFit we train incredibly hard; harder than most thought they were ever capable of. Daily our athletes break down barriers and adopt a new set set of standards for themselves.  As a group together we sweat, we bleed, and often push beyond our limits. We expose our weaknesses and we get stronger…together. Our training intensity level is high, and that focus alone creates a bond among our members that can’t be faked or manufactured. The community aspect of CrossFit is our greatest component. At CrossFit there are no ego’s, no room for negativity.  We are supportive, we are competitive, we are strong, we are humble, we are athletes…. we are CrossFit.

Certifications and Training

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certificate

Karen MacKinnon was born and raised in Coronation, Alberta, and moved to Calgary in 2005 to join the oil and gas industry, where she met and married her husband Ryan; together, they are the proud parents of their son Evan.

After graduating high school, Karen spent the next 7 years constantly battling with her weight and found herself gaining and losing the same 50-70 pounds through fad diets, with no long term success.  It wasn’t until after the birth of her son in 2009 that she made the decision to truly commit to living an active and healthy lifestyle so that she could be a positive role model for her family.

After working out on her own for a few months, Karen decided to shake up her workout routine and try CrossFit. She fell instantly in love with it. The variety and intensity of the workouts, and results that followed kept her engaged, focused, easily motivated, and excited to workout. Enjoying her new lifestyle so much, Karen made the decision to transition into a career in the wellness sector.  As such, Karen recently acquired her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certificate, and is looking forward to working with like-minded individuals and helping them reach goals that they never thought possible.
